LL: Media Literacy in Early Childhood I: Center-Based Educator Edition

The Learning Lab Series, Media Literacy in Early Childhood, is a fully virtual, synchronous 10-hour workshop series for Early Childhood professionals who work directly with young children and families. Throughout this series, professionals are guided through the need for media literacy education, how children learn with digital media, and the importance of understanding media representations. Discover techniques to support children strengthen their critical inquiry skills in a world filled with digital and non-digital media.

Course Learning Objectives

1. Increase media literacy knowledge including the need of media literacy, media literacy abilities and appropriateness in early childhood
2. Increase confidence in one’s media literacy competencies
3. Increase confidence in ability to support media literacy competencies of young children and families
