Course Description
The Learning Lab Series, Early Math for Infants and Toddlers I: Center-Based Educator Edition, is a fully virtual, synchronous 10-hour workshop series for Infant and Toddler Educators. This comprehensive six-workshop series delves into the why and how of teaching early math concepts to infants and toddlers such as exploring effective strategies, practical activities, and the underlying rationale for early math development. By the end of this series, practitioners will demonstrate proficiency through teaching effectiveness, versatility, and intentionality to create an engaging learning environment that sparks curiosity and fosters a lifelong love of math in young learners.

This course was designed for early childhood educators working directly with Infants and Toddlers. However, this course is applicable for many other audiences.

Erikson’s Learning Labs are interactive virtual sessions that support real-time collaboration and meaningful professional growth, offering a deep dive into key early childhood topics. Educators apply strategies between sessions and return to reflect and strengthen their practice together.
Learning Labs are typically delivered as a series of six, 90-minute workshops with a 10 minute reflective activity. Learners participate in the series in cohorts of up to 25 learners. The Learning Lab series accounts for a total of 10 hours of professional development. Each Learning Lab is typically delivered with three to four weeks between each session.
